Tommy Hutchings
Managing Director
Tommy is the Founder of Mind Mechanical, having built the business from the ground up with a clear vision, strong values, and a commitment to doing things the right way.
Tommy began his career as an apprentice at 17, later joining a Tier 2 mechanical contractor where he progressed from project manager to board director within eight years. He developed broad experience across the mechanical industry alongside strong leadership capability.
Before entering the mechanical sector, Tommy’s professional background was in football. The discipline and resilience gained during that time continue to shape his people focused approach to business.
Following a challenging period in his previous role, during which he stepped away from the industry to focus on his mental health, Tommy established Mind Mechanical alongside Joe Moore, with a clear intention to build a business grounded in integrity and awareness of industry pressures.
Outside of work, Tommy enjoys spending time with his children and has a strong passion for football, particularly Chelsea FC.
Joe Moore
Managing Director
Joe is the Co-Founder of Mind Mechanical, bringing over seventeen years of experience within the mechanical engineering and building services industry.
After completing his apprenticeship, Joe progressed into a contracts manager role before going on to successfully run his own air conditioning business for over ten years. Through this, he gained extensive hands on experience delivering mechanical, air conditioning, and ventilation projects across a wide range of sectors.
Joe brings strong technical knowledge, practical leadership, and a commitment to delivering work to a high standard. He is self motivated, values continuous learning, and believes strongly in self progression, both for himself and for those around him.
Joe’s professional partnership with fellow Co-Founder Tommy Hutchings spans many years and is built on shared values of integrity, respect, and professionalism, which continue to shape the culture and direction of Mind Mechanical.
Outside of work, Joe places great importance on maintaining a healthy work life balance and enjoys spending time with his partner and young sons.
Lewis Symes
Operations Director
Lewis is the Operations Director at Mind Mechanical Services Group, having progressed from apprentice to senior leadership through discipline, technical expertise, and a strong results focused mindset.
With over eleven years of experience in the mechanical services industry, Lewis leads operational delivery across mechanical and engineering projects, ensuring consistent quality from design through to client handover. His experience in air conditioning systems and his practical, hands on approach support the successful delivery of complex and demanding projects.
Having worked his way through the ranks to senior management, Lewis has a proven track record of delivering every project he manages, regardless of complexity. His strengths in people management, quality control, and his passion for excellence provide a solid foundation for consistent performance and long term client confidence.
Known for his determination and refusal to accept barriers without solutions, Lewis brings a decisive approach to his role, supported by strong working relationships with leading brands and principal contractors.
Outside of work, Lewis enjoys spending time with his family and has a long standing passion for music, regularly DJing in his spare time.
Ryan Martinueax
Estimating Manager
Ryan Martinueax is the Estimating Manager at Mind Mechanical, bringing a strong practical background and a broad understanding of the mechanical services industry.
Ryan began his career as a Commercial Plumber, developing hands on experience across building services before progressing into supervisory roles and later Contracts Manager positions. He has worked across a wide range of environments, including high end residential developments, educational facilities, office fit outs, hospitals, and scientific laboratories, giving him a well rounded perspective on complex project delivery.
In 2023, Ryan transitioned into an estimating role, applying his technical knowledge and analytical skills to support accurate project planning, procurement, and cost management.
A graduate of the Open University, Ryan demonstrates a continued commitment to professional development and lifelong learning.
Outside of work, Ryan values time with his two daughters, enjoys photography, plays the piano and guitar, and is always happy to take on a round of golf.
Tony Dempster
Contracts Manager
Tony Dempster is a Contracts Manager at Mind Mechanical, bringing over 33 years of experience within the gas, heating, and mechanical services industry.
Tony began his career at the age of 16 through an apprenticeship in the gas and heating sector, where he went on to gain extensive technical knowledge and hands on experience over many years. He later progressed into management roles, including overseeing gas works for Walthamstow Council, before transitioning into the fit out sector.
During his time in the fit out sector, Tony worked with well established mechanical companies and collaborated closely with Tommy Hutchings. He joined Mind Mechanical in June 2025, drawn to the company’s clear vision and commitment to delivering installation projects to a high standard, alongside its focus on quality, job satisfaction, and employee wellbeing.
Outside of work, Tony enjoys playing the drums, a passion he has pursued from an early age. He is also a keen supporter of Southend United and values spending time with family and friends.
Ross Brinson
Commercial Manager
Ross Brinson is the Commercial Manager at Mind Mechanical, bringing over 20 years of experience working with Tier One contractors across the construction industry.
Ross has delivered commercial leadership on complex and high value projects across the infrastructure, commercial, and residential sectors, supporting delivery from pre construction through to final account. His experience includes cost planning, procurement strategy, contract administration, risk management, and value engineering.
Known for his pragmatic and detail focused approach, Ross ensures strong financial control while delivering value driven outcomes for clients and stakeholders. He is widely respected for his professionalism and integrity, and is regarded as a trusted commercial advisor within multidisciplinary project teams.
At Mind Mechanical, Ross applies his depth of commercial experience to support the successful delivery of mechanical projects across multiple sectors, providing strategic commercial insight and robust cost management.
Steve Podmore
Senior Project Manager
Steve Podmore is a Senior Project Manager at Mind Mechanical, bringing over two decades of experience within the construction and mechanical services industry.
Steve began his career in 2004 and has progressed through a wide range of roles, including Duct Worker, Installer, Supervisor, and Project Manager. This broad background has given him a comprehensive understanding of project delivery, from on site installation through to the management of complex mechanical systems.
Known for his clear communication and professional approach, Steve brings strong leadership and attention to detail to every project. His experience allows him to manage technical and logistical challenges effectively while maintaining positive working relationships with clients and project teams.
Outside of work, Steve enjoys spending time with family and friends, values an active and healthy lifestyle, and has a longstanding interest in football and fitness.
Lydia Braxton
Accounts Manager
Lydia Braxton is an experienced Accounts Manager at Mind Mechanical Services, with over ten years of experience across accounts management, temperature management, and mechanical services.
Having spent a decade managing accounts within the temperature management sector, Lydia plays an important role in supporting the smooth financial and administrative operations of the business. She is highly organised, detail focused, and known for her accuracy, reliability, and strong client care.
Lydia takes pride in building trusted relationships and ensuring accounts are managed efficiently and professionally, with a personal approach that clients value.
Alongside her role at Mind Mechanical, Lydia is fully qualified in her own field and is currently learning sign language, reflecting her commitment to personal development and high standards.
And while it may not appear on most CVs, Lydia also holds a forklift licence, a light hearted reminder that she is always ready to step in and help when needed.
